I would say that Romeo and Juliet has paved the way for all of the romantic genres out today. The unparallel love between the two characters can be seen in any romantic film. Its something that has stuck in modern day movies, and they owe it all to william shakespeare for making it a possibility. There is always the love struggle in films, not always like the hardship in Romeo and Juliett, but they are there. Its evident that William Shakespearee laid out the cards, and without him you have to wonder if modern day movies would be so good.
