Question by b8l6p: How to hook stereo to a TV with input only?
recently bought a HTS. I have successfully hooked it up and can play and hear DVDs/games through my xbox, but I cannot hear sound from my tv. Whenever I hook the audio cable to my tv there is silence (it has 1 audio/1 video connector on the front of the tv, HTS has a L/R audio connector). Is there any way that I can connect my coaxial cable directly to my HTS and go through my HTS for sound to make the tv work?
Model/make of HTS: RCA 1000W Home Theater System, RT2770
TV is a 23 inch Symphonic w/ front AV input.
Went and bought an RF modulator last night. Hooked main coaxial (from wall) to rfmod, hooked another coax to tv. Hooked xbox to L/R audio & video input, hooked L/R audio output to stereo. No tv sound through stereo. Need more help!
NOTE**: The TV does not have audio output. Only input.
If I went through the VCR, would I have to turn the VCR on every time I wanted to use the stereo with the TV?

You need to attach red/white audio cables from your tv’s audio OUTPUT into your sound system’s audio INPUT. Then you may also have to go into your tv’s sound set up and tell it to use external speakers, not the tv’s speakers.
